As we finish Passover cleaning, there is a custom of bedikat chametz, hiding small pieces of bread throughout the home and searching for it using a candle, a feather, and a wooden spoon. Join ritualist Sarah Chandler and musician Éléonore Weill on zoom for a musical journey through this custom. What sort of chametz (leavened foods) are still hiding and what are some of the spiritual practices that align with the search and discovery? We will provide a handout that includes traditional prayers as well as prompts and reflections for a modern approach to this home cleansing ritual.
Hosted on Zoom.
