Yizal Mayim: The Flow of Water

Renewing the Jewish relationship with water in the land of Israel

Launching in Spring 2021

Yizal Mayim is composed of four 90 minute workshops designed for a school or camp setting. Each workshop is comprised of a text study, a prayer/song component, and a hands-on science lesson. The primary outcome of the workshop is for students to understand that access and conservation of fresh water has always been core to the Jewish religion (including ritual and prayer), and is deeply connected to our daily survival. Students will both understand ancient and modern innovations in water catchment and conservation, through hands-on activities that demonstrate cisterns, drip irrigation, desalination, and more. The workshops will both highlight ancient and modern technologies that make it possible for communities to live and thrive in the land of Israel.
